Autumn workshop
Autumn is by far the most fascinating and inspiring season for a landscape photographer. Nature is preparing itself for winter and forests transform completely, creating a beautiful colour palette of red, brown and yellow hues. This abundance of colours together with the ambiance and scents of autumn make this the most photogenic time of the year.
For this workshop we are visiting the High Fens during the peak of autumn. This area is known for its beautiful forests and autumn colours are always more impressive here than in other parts of the country. During the weekend we will focus on a few of Belgium's most beautiful streams, the Hoëgne and the Getzbach, and we will photograph these rivers in combination with the autumn foliage. A considerable part of our time will be dedicated to discussing composition and the use of foreground elements, but we will also experiment with long shutter speeds and work with both neutral density and polarization filters. Furthermore we will try our hand at close-up photography and look for nice details in and around the streams.
We will be staying in a hotel nearby where we will have all necessaries at our disposal. A beamer and projection screen will be available to discuss and evaluate each other’s pictures or to give a small lecture or presentation. All participants are allowed to bring their own images and ask for feedback.
On the first day we will start with a theoretical session in the hotel. The afternoon and the day after will be spent in the field to put the theory into practice. The number of participants for this workshop is limited and I kindly ask all participants to give each other working space while photographing.
This landscape workshop includes two days of photographic tuition, one night accommodation in separate rooms with single, twin or double beds. Breakfast, dinner on Saturday and packed lunch on Sunday will be provided for. The costs do not include alcoholic drinks, a personal or equipment insurance, nor transport compensation.
