Slovenia
A quick update to let you all know I finally found the time to put the Slovenia pictures online. Last month I visited the region around Bled and Triglav National Park from the 15th until the 29th of October to photograph autumn abroad. While the scenery was magnificent, the autumn colours were – as they were here as well – rather dull. Fortunately, the colours brightened near the end of my stay and I got to take some colourful pictures after all. It rained quite a lot during my trip, but luckily the rain turned into snow above 700 meters. That way I was able to take some nice wintry shots. Check out the entire portfolio at www.bartheirweg.com/portfolio/slovenia. I also added some pictures to my Recent work portfolio, so don’t forget to have a look there too!
Even though I just finished the pictures from this trip, I’m already planning my next journey. In February or March 2012 I plan to visit Iceland again, to check out the places I didn’t get the chance to see last time. I visited Iceland in the spring of 2009 and missed out on the northern lights. I’m hoping to capture this beautiful natural phenomenon this time!
For those of you already longing for summer in these dark autumn days, there are still places available for the Provence workshop I’m organizing next year! Check out all the details here.
I saved the best for last, as I am proud to announce that my picture “Getzbach during Autumn” was selected as this month’s winner of the Wild Wonders competition. Big thanks to everyone who voted for me!
