A quick update to let you all know I finally found the time to put the Slovenia pictures online. Last month I visited the region around Bled and Triglav National Park from the 15th until the 29th of October to photograph autumn abroad. While the scenery was magnificent, the autumn colours were – as they were here as well – rather dull.

Workshop Provence

From the 2nd until the 8th of July I will be giving a workshop in the Vaucluse, a beautiful region in the heart of the Provence. During this workshop we will focus on the picturesque scenery, narrow streets and colorful houses and details of some of the most beautiful villages in France. Furthermore we will also take a look at those villages from a distance and photograph them in the warm light of the setting sun.

Roots nature photography competition

Here’s a small update of the last few weeks. I am happy to announce that my image of ‘Getzbach during autumn’ won the first prize in the Roots (formerly known as Grasduinen) nature photography competition. Furthermore, four of my images got published in the Roots Nature Agenda 2012. This annual publication is connected to the photography contest and collects the competition’s best images.

Having already been there four years ago, I revisited the Vaucluse in the heart of the Provence this summer. The reasons for my visit were twofold. Firstly, from time to time my girlfriend likes to go a place where the average temperature is above freezing point, where morning rises are after 4am and where there is also some time to relax. Secondly, I wanted to make all preparations for a workshop I am planning there.

I have just updated my website with new work I made over the past two months. As usual I have been very busy and didn't have the time to travel around, which is why most of the images are shot close to home. Although last year I thought I would never make another image in the Langemeersen, I ended up spending quite some time there again.
